The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
