19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an better serve.
He came back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the last five games to go ahead.
The competitors traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
He saved 4 early opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
