Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has increased strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the city came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults follow nights of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
